The competition, organized by Sacramento Area Brewers Guild with support from the Central Coast, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego brewers guilds, recognizes the best craft beers in the state of California. The competition had a total of 1,309 entries from 191 independent craft breweries.
Winning beers were determined by a panel of more than 50 expert judges, who determined the winning beers in 83 categories. The winning breweries were announced at the 2023 Brewers Cup of California awards ceremony at the historic Crest Theater in Sacramento, California on Tuesday, March 21, to a sold out crowd of Craft Beer Professionals from alll over California.
“The California Craft Brewers Cup recognizes the best beers in the state,” said California Craft Brewers Cup Competition Director, Mike Witherow. “The awarded beers are truly of the highest caliber and showcase the talent and dedication of the breweries that made them.”

Gold – Goons & Glory – Golden or Blonde Ale category
Silver – Rabbit Hole – French & Belgian-Style Saison
Silver – Bennett – American-Style Pale Ale
Silver – Goons & Glory – English-Style Pale Mild Ale
Bronze – Maria – Robust Porter
Bronze – Spaniard – Rye Ale
