Ready to hit up the freshest new spots in Midtown? From a clothing boutique to a unisex hair salon to two separate craft breweries, read on for the rundown of the newest businesses to open in this Sacramento neighborhood.

Alaro Craft Brewery is a pub and brewery now open at 2004 Capitol Ave. in Midtown. The project of Ray and Annette Ballestero, with head brewer Chris Keeton and head chef Jason Azevedo, it’s located in the former space of Rubicon Brewing Co.

The seven house-brewed beers on tap include several IPAs, a Czech-style pilsner and an oatmeal stout, while the food menu offers small plates like deep-fried pickles and clam and chorizo soup. (You can check out the full menu here.)

With a 4.5-star rating out of 20 reviews on Yelp, Alaro Craft Brewery has been getting positive attention.
