Introducing Ballesta No. 24, the latest chapter in our ever-evolving Rotating Hop IPA Series. Ballesta—Spanish for Crossbow—is more than a name; it’s the symbol of our Castle and the fearless spirit guiding this hop-driven pursuit.
The foundation remains steadfast, but the arrows are always changing. Brewed with Rahr’s Brewers Standard and wheat & oats from our friends at Admiral Maltings then fermented with White Labs Coastal Haze Yeast; Ballesta No. 24 delivers the same pillowy-soft body and luminous haze that give each new hop combination its chance to rule the realm.
This edition reloads the quiver with Nectaron, Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, and Hallertau Blanc. Nectaron and Galaxy lead with waves of ripe tropical fruit and stone fruit, while Citra and Mosaic bring layers of juicy citrus, berry, and vibrant hop character. Hallertau Blanc adds a refined white-grape and floral note beneath it all, giving this Ballesta a bright, vinous edge and a beautifully layered finish.
Expect ripe pineapple, passionfruit, peach, citrus, and sweet berry wrapped in a soft, saturated haze. Juicy up front, lush through the middle, and bright on the finish—another new combination fired from the Ballesta.
